2001 2nd Extraordinary Session
(October 8, 2001 to October 15, 2001)

Redistricting is undertaken every 10 years following the federal decennial census. The Legislature is responsible for redistricting the following:

  • Louisiana Legislature - Senate and House of Representatives

  • Congress

  • State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education

  • Public Service Commission

Redistricting plans are based on the latest decennial population counts.
