NOW AVAILABLE ON LA SENATE WEB SITE

CONTINUING EFFORT TO PROVIDE CITIZENS FREE ACCESS
TO SENATE DELIBERATIONS ON THE INTERNET

 

  Citizens can now watch and listen to archived broadcasts of Louisiana Senate proceedings on the Senate Web Site.http://senate.la.gov The archived broadcasts are available beginning with the start of the 1st 2008 Extraordinary Session which is currently underway and are searchable either by date or by committee.

  "We have talked about this for some time and I am pleased to see the Senate continuing its efforts to make it as easy as possible for citizens to stay informed and involved in the legislative process." Senate President Joel Chaisson (D-Destrehan) said. "For years now, the Senate has provided live broadcasts of Senate committee and floor debates on the Internet. Making the archived broadcasts available on line as well is a great addition and allows citizens anywhere and anytime to watch and listen to their state government in action," Senate President Joel Chaisson (D-Destrehan) said.

  To access the archived broadcasts go to the Senate Web Site at http://senate.la.gov and click on the "Broadcast Archives" icon. Then choose to watch and listen to Senate committee hearings or floor debates by date or by committee. Users will need Real Player to access the archived broadcasts. The Real Player application may be downloaded for free on the Senate Web Site.
