LA SENATE & HOUSE TO HOLD SPECIAL MEETING TO RECEIVE AN UPDATE ON HURRICANE KATRINA RECOVERY FROM GOVERNOR BLANCO
The Senate and the House of Representatives will hold a "joint special" meeting tomorrow for the purpose of receiving and considering an update on the status of the state due to the public emergency caused by Hurricane Katrina. Senate President Don Hines and House Speaker Joe Salter called the meeting pursuant to Article III, Section 1, of the Constitution of Louisiana.
The Senate and the House of Representatives will each convene Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 5:30 PM in their respective chambers in the State Capitol. Legislators will then meet jointly in the House Chamber at 6:00 PM for the purpose of hearing Governor Blanco. Governor Blanco’s remarks are scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM.
