The Senate Select Committee on Coastal Restoration and Flood Control was created by Senate Resolution 4 of the 2004 1st Extraordinary Session to study all issues related to coastal restoration and flooding in coastal parishes.  The subject areas studied by the committee include:

• tidelands
• construction, improvements and maintenance of waterways, lakes, and streams in coastal parishes
• facilities in connection with lakes, waterways, and streams in coastal parishes
• flood and drainage projects in coastal parishes
• levee districts in coastal parishes
• public works in connection with construction, improvement, and maintenance of waterways, lakes, and streams in coastal parishes
